James R. came to Premier at Susquehanna following a recent hospitalization due to osteomyelitis and a foot ulceration. Upon admission, he required total assistance with ADL and mobility tasks. He would require IV antibiotics for 30 days while in the facility.
James had plans to return home with his spouse and daughter, where he was independent using a power wheelchair and sliding board. His spouse would assist him with cares, as needed. James worked with our physical therapy team and occupational therapy team to develop a rehabilitation plan to improve his independence with ADL and mobility tasks.
James worked hard daily to improve his overall independence with his cares and mobility tasks using taught compensatory strategies. Once his IV antibiotics were discontinued, James was able to return home with his family with home health services to continue his progress and maximize his overall independence.
